Guidelines

Classes:

Classes begin in August and will run through mid-May. Dance class consists of one hour of instruction each week. If a class consists of three or less students, classes will be held for 45 minutes.  Should your preschool  be closed or cancel class for ANY  reason-weather, holidays, field trips, etc. -we are not responsible for a make-up class.  Should we cancel class for any reason, you may call for a prorated tuition if the class cannot be rescheduled.  Please see the back of your payment book for a calendar of our holidays.  Registration is closed from February 1st to June 30th of each year. No child will be allowed to participate in dance class until we have received your registration form in our office — NOT at your preschool.  We provide “sweet treats” for good listeners, please let us know if your dancer cannot have certain sweet treat items.

Please check to be sure you are on the correct Division/Website of Dancing Little Stars: look at the CITY and State of your PRESCHOOL address (not your home address) to reach the correct division of DLS.

Once we receive your registration, you will receive a confirmation email from us. Please add Dancing Little Stars: Inc. via thestudiodirector.biz to your contacts. This will be the email future communications will come to you from. It is your responsibility to contact us if you do not receive an email from us within two days of registration. Otherwise, we will assume you are receiving all of our emails. We send most communications through email.

Dance Attire:

Students will need both ballet and tap shoes, any color is acceptable; however, these need not be purchased immediately.   Shoes can be purchased through our website -click on the “Order Dancewear /Shoes” link at the top of the page.

 

**PLEASE MAKE SURE TO PLACE YOUR CHILD’S NAME IN HIS/HER DANCE SHOES!

 

Dance attire can be purchased anywhere you like or through our website -click on the “Order Dancewear /Shoes” link at the top of the page.  Leotards (any color or style) are acceptable for dance class, but not required. Tights: We only allow tights in dance class IF your child already has them on when they arrive to dance. We will not put tights on a dancer (tights take up too much dance time to put on 10 dancers).  Please have your child wear socks on dance day.  Some of the children “dress-out” for dance class, and some do not. If your child will not be changing into dance attire, please have “gym type” clothing on for maximum mobility.

 

Our teachers will change your child in and out of their dance attire. Please note that a small portion of dance class time is used to dress out for dance class. Please bring all dance items in a separate bag – i.e. a dance bag or a plastic grocery bag, etc.

Please have your child wear a pull-over dress to school on dance day.  This enables your child to receive more “dance time” and less “changing of the clothes time” in the hour you are paying for dance class. IF your child arrives to preschool close to dance class time, feel free to bring your child to school already in her dance attire. Just have your child’s pullover dress in her dance bag; so at the end of class, the teacher can just pull off the leotard and pull on your child’s dress.

Tuition:

Tuition is due by the 5th of each month and is considered late by the 10th.

If your tuition is late, please add on a $10  late charge. Tuition is based on a yearly dance season (NOT a monthly tuition); the yearly fee is broken down into monthly payments for your convenience. Tuition is not prorated unless your student starts classes mid-month.

To mail in your dance payment: please send to 3318 Horseshoe Trail Dr. Orange Park, FL 32065. Be sure to include your child’s name and school.

We accept payments on-line for tuition and fees using your credit card. Simply log into your parent portal and click make a payment. You can also sign up for autopay.

**DO NOT  TAKE YOUR PAYMENTS TO YOUR CHILD’S PRESCHOOL AND GIVE TO THE DANCE TEACHER! MAIL IT OR PAY ONLINE INSTEAD. (Taking payment in to the preschool WILL delay credit to your account! — Mail it instead).

**Should your account become delinquent and you have failed to contact Christina Callipo to make arrangements for payment, your child is subject to termination from our program.  Any unpaid account will be reported to our collection agency.

Refunds – No refunds will be given when dancer is withdrawal mid-month. Due to the cost associated with a recital, the recital fee is non-refundable.

It is your responsibility to remove your CC information from the portal when withdrawing your child mid-year. There will be no further tuition payments taken out after May, unless you sign up for more classes.

Parent Observation:

We do not send out progress reports for dance class; however, you are welcome to come and observe dance class.  We ask that if you are going to come and watch: that you do not let your child know you are there until after dance class, and that none of the children can see you.  Please peek from the other room, through the window or the door.  We have found, through experience, that when parents come into the room to watch class, the children (sometimes yours, and sometimes someone else’s) do not dance.  This can be disruptive to the dance instruction.

For security purposes, only DLS employees may help the children get dressed or use the restroom.

There will be absolutely no videotaping or photographing by anyone other than DLS staff and/or the school staff during dance class. If you would like to take photos of your dancer, you must do so with no other dancers in the photo. This is for the protection of all dancers. There will be no exceptions to this rule. If you cannot abide by it, your child may be withdrawn from class. Again this is for the safety of all children, but specifically children who cannot be photographed for various safety reasons. We greatly appreciate you understanding that these rules have your dancers best interest in mind, not to be restrictive. We will happily allow you to videotape the day of rehearsal, when your dancer can show off all that they have learned.

Withdrawal:

Notification of dancer’s withdraw from class must be in writing: email or letter.  If notification is NOT given by dancer’s parent/guardian to Dancing Little Stars, then any refund is void and not owed to the parent/guardian.  Your school is not responsible for informing us of the status of your dancer.

Special Note:

Dancing Little Stars reserves the right to terminate any student’s enrollment in dance class at any time, for any reason.  A parent or guardian may withdraw their child from dance class at any time, for any reason.  Dancing Little Stars reserves the right to use group or individual photos/videos taken during class or at the Dance Recital of your dancer to include, but not limited to our program promotions, social media, website, displays and  material.

DLS’s primary point of contact is through email. When registering through our “Parent Portal” your email is entered in our email system. Monthly emails are sent as well as additional information about events and specific classes. Email is our primary contact channel & is where we send ALL important information throughout the dance season. Follow us on social media for updates and reminders!

Dancing Little Stars reserves the right to use group or individual photos/videos taken during class or at the Dance Recital of your dancer to include, but not limited to our program promotions, social media, website, displays and  material.  We only communicate through email, so make sure we have a correct email address for you.
